I will argue that it is best to think of diet as
general and variable in its meaning. After all,
research that is always ongoing, may lead to a wise

First, some form of exercise is essential for a healthy
lifestyle. How can I be so sure? Because it is impossible
for muscles to truly relax unless they have been exercised

The choices for a personal exercise program are so many
and varied that there are entire bookshelves that do not
cover all the possibilities. Suffice to say here that
the list of benefits is so long and so well established
that exercise and should not be ignored nor left out of
your life.
In the fields of exercise and diet there are massive
numbers of choices and arguments for and against.
I believe that everyone who is interested should
do at least some of their own research. My purpose is
to help in that direction.
For example, some people believe and express that diet
is 80 percent of the healthy lifestyle. Who can say
what the percentage is? I think this does come close
to the truth - maybe a better way to state it is that
you cannot outwork a bad diet. Even a marathon a week
will not overcome the effects of a steady diet of junk food.

- Reduce salt. Do not put extra salt in your food and don't keep it on the table while eating. Avoid foods with a very high salt content, like canned goods, sausages and pickles.
- Keep a food diary. If you record everything you eat or drink for a week (even water, coffee, chewing gum) and then read it you will realize a lot about your eating habits. Many times we underestimate how much food we consume. Many people consume a lot more calories than they realise and end up feeling frustrated about not being able to lose weight. They often blame their bad metabolism or their heredity, but the truth is that what they need to do is to reduce their portions.
